Let's Get 5ohHubbys Sister To Africa

There is a cause- rather a PERSON with a cause- that is very very close to my heart. 5ohHubby's sister has a fire inside of her that I honestly prayed the Lord would give 5ohBaby many a time. Please Lord give 5ohBaby a passion for and love for you like her aunt has. Seriously.

Over the past few years, her heart for children has grown and grown. She is amazing with 5ohBaby and the rest of her nieces and nephews. She has worked at the YMCA as a lifeguard teaching children how to swim and has just raved and raved about it. She was a counselor at Kanackuk and a young life leader. Her heart for these kids is simply amazing.

She has been offered and incredible opportunity to follow her life's dream seriously what 12 year old desires to be a missionary in Africa?? but, as any missionary does, she needs to raise support. Let me let her tell you a little bit more about herself.

Hey 5ohwifey readers! So I'm pretty pumped to be on my totally dorky cool sister's blog. She is pretty popular I hear, so I thought this might be a great way to tell a wider audience about the way God is using me to change the world.

I wanted to start off just telling you a little bit about myself, besides being fabulous, an outdoorsy freak, lover of peanut butter, previously a swim instructor and now a hostess at the coolest jazz place in St. Augustine, I am a college student getting my education major in hopes of using it as a platform for mission work in Africa. I hope to eventually rehabilitate children and women who have been abused in the various wars plaguing sub-Saharan Africa. But the biggest part of this rehabilitation is sharing with them the GREAT news that they are loved by the creator of the universe and of peanut butter, Jesus Christ.

There is a verse in Thessalonians that really describes my heart for missions, "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well." (Thes. 2:8)  I have longed to share my life with these people.

I don't believe in running around screaming Jesus in other's ears, I believe in living amongst a people, like a people, and loving those people so much that you want them to know the incredible grace that you experience.

Ever since I was eight I have felt extremely called to Africa, and through life's hardships, puberty, and even dark times, that passion and drive has never left my soul.

College is a time to prepare, and perhaps train yourself for what you wish to do with your love. It's a time to soak up knowledge and experience, finally through a certain program I will be able to live in Africa for a few months next semester and train to be a missionary in a place where Christianity is not prohibited. We will be studying language, the heart of missions, cultural immersion, and building relationships with the locals.

My entire being is buzzing and filled with desire to be there.

To be able to participate in this program I need to raise 7,500 dollars in the next few months. Due to the security of the program, I cannot say who I am going with or where I am going, but if you are interested in being a part of my financial and prayer sending team, then e-mail your info to 5ohwifey (5ohwifey[at]gmail[dot]com) and she will get it to me so that I may send you a letter or email with much more information in explaining the trip and how you can be a part of it.

Thanks for reading a little bit about my life and calling, keep it classy 5ohwifey fans, and keep reading the hilarious and wonderful adventures of my sister and her incredible family.

Please pray and consider offering your support to her as she pursues her dream to spread the love of Jesus. Maybe just email me so you can receive her letter to hear more about what she is doing? Every little bit you can give even $5 goes directly to her mission to participate in this program. I know my readers are amazing and I pray some of you might find it in your heart to support 5ohHubby's sister and this cause.

  1. This is so awesome! I will be praying for you and this journey you are soon to embark on!

I have been raising money for the past year to visit Uganda & Ethiopia. It is quite a challenge being only 13!

But, I'm so grateful that the Lord has blessed me with such an amazing oppurtunity to work with some of the child soldiers, HIV/AIDS orphans, and former prostitutes of Africa.

Best of luck, girl! God is going to do great things through you.
