Well chocolate sauce. But, I'm not talking about the store brand chocolate sauce
Now don't get crazy. It is seriously so easy, this shouldn't even count as a recipe. I already told y'all I'm no chef so believe me when I say this is like the easiest thing ever. Full disclosure- I didn't make this recipe up... I totally stole it from my mother in law who is the queen of making common dishes super simple and delicious like her non nonsense chicken and dumplings. But, never the less, here it is.
First of all, 5 ingredients and 4 of which I can all but guarantee you already have in your pantry? It doesn't get much easier than that.
Oh wait, it does.
Did I mention, this is all done in a microwave?
You just mix the butter and the chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave it on high for 1 minute. Then you stir it, making sure to scrape the chocolate off the bottom
Ok, that looks gross.
Seriously, I will NEVER be a food blogger.
No, don't worry, that's not the end of this recipe. You just nuke it for another minute and a half.
That's better.
Better than store bought and certainly better than that murky looking business up above.
It refrigerates well, heats up easily again in the microwave, and is good on everything.
Especially ice cream.
Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream Sauce
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 1/2 tablespoons of butter
1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup light karo syrup
1/2 cup of water
Melt chocolate chips and butter in microwave for approximately 1 minute. Stir. Add the rest of the ingredients and microwave another 1 1/2 minutes. Serve.

I'm a pain when it comes to my chocolate. I'll only take a bag of semi-sweet and melt it on a double broiler and will never get store bought so I feel you on that one!
ReplyDeleteYou are so a good enough food blogger for me! YUM! Oh, I'm so going to have to make me some of this... as soon as I find karo syrup!

That sounds like the chocolate sauce that my Granny B makes to go on her famous Chocolate Syrup and biscuits! I know that sounds like a weird combo, but it's AMAZING.
