Hip-hip-hooray! Its time for this months The Girl Behind The Blog vlog link up!! This is seriously my most favorite day of the month!! First, we got to know you & your blog a little better, next we dug a little deeper and talked about what we've been learning lately, then we talked about our favorite beauty product then we got to know each other a little more and last month we talked about our hopes, dreams, and goals! This month we are talking about how blogging has changed us and I am more than excited to be co-hosting with Sarah. She is one of the sweetest women I've met in this blogging world with one of the most beautiful hearts. I am so glad that we are friends!!
We know that a lot of us hate our voices on camera, have a false start due to random loud sounds blasting from our computer, are constantly looking down becuase we are reading the questions off our phone, gush a little about their fav blogger, mention a blog that answers prayer requests when the obviously can only pray for others or are 100% certain YouTube's main goal is to give you the most unflattering thumbnail options in the world.

ReplyDeleteLove your answer, and the fact that you do share your faith but in a non-awkward way is one of the reasons I LOVE your blog! I'm also in the process of weeding out a lot of the fluff so that I'm using my time well, so I get what you're saying. Lovely vlog as always! :)
ReplyDeleteGood points about trying to read ALL blogs - I've been getting stuck in that cycle, and I can't keep up! Then I feel guilty for not reading everything I get my hands on (or everyone who reads my blog). Maybe I need to let that go a little - so thank you! :)

ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you mean about sharing your faith without being too aggressive. I think you do a great job of being open and honest, showing your struggles and how you rely on God. Your site has been an encouragement to me, and I'm sure to others!

ReplyDeleteI loved this! I have stumbled upon a lot of faith blogs and find them to be too in my face. I do not share anything about my faith on my blog because that is not what I want my blog to be about. But, I do enjoy reading your blog and your views!
ReplyDeleteI like to read encouraging blogs too. blogging is my happy place, so I like to read blogs that are positive and uplifting (one of the reasons I read your blog...duh). I'm also glad you mentioned that we can't read all of the blogs out there. I tend to get overwhelmed and have to be reminded that it's "okay" if I don't get to every blog. I also just want to say that you are the CUTEST in glasses. You are one of those people that looks amazing with or without them! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour mention of whittling down your blog reading to the blogs that mean the most to you is something I just started doing. With grad school starting soon, I really need to prioritize my time!
ReplyDeleteyes! I definitely know what you mean about narrowing down blogs you read consistently and choosing ones that push you closer to Jesus. I have started doing that more too!
ReplyDeleteI really do think this linkup has been a great way to build community between bloggers and it has been such a springboard for sharing what God is doing in everyone's lives!

I love this video!! I have a hard time keeping up with blogs in general now that I have a new job and my schedule is changed, and I still read a lot of fluff stuff because...well, let's face it, that's mostly what my blog is. But I have gotten a lot better at making 1-2 posts a week be more devotionals (Sundays mostly, and sometimes Tuesdays or Thursdays). I think it's important that whatever your blog decides to be, it just should be "real". Be yourself and that's all that matters. But I do love your blog and just stumbled on it thanks to this linkup through Sarah, so I'm excited to read more!!

I love this! I try to follow blogs that encourage and build and challenge me as well. I also see my blog as a ministry, so I feel it's important to be fed well when I'm reading so I can better pour into my writing. I loved hearing your thoughts on blogging! It's encouraging to know there are other bloggers like me who have hearts for community. I am so excited to meet you at Influence!
